Announcement:
New Beginnings
(and Leaving American University)
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
As of September 1, I have left my position as Professor at American University.
Deciding to leave teaching after 18 years wasn't easy, but given the state of the world, I feel a sense of urgency about dedicating my scholarship and full-time work to collaborative efforts to stop US and other wars, repair war's damage, and try to make the world more peaceful--and democratic--in every sense.
While I'm still thinking about my next professional home, below are a few of the projects I'm currently working on and some recent pieces of mostly collaborative writing, graphic design, and other work.
With hopes that you're as well as can be in these dangerous times,
David
P.S. To be clear, I made my decision thanks to having money in savings because of the undeserved luck of inheriting some money at 6 from my godfather, a door-to-door salesperson, as well as class/racial/gender privilege (beginning with no student debt).
